We needed to replace carpet in our bedroom with hardwood quickly in order to support use of a Hoyer lift for transferring my wife from place to place. We already had hardwood in our living room and wanted it to match. We were referred to FCI Seattle Eastside by a trusted contractor. Overall, the job was completed quickly with beautiful results. The Hoyer lift now glides smoothly over the floor, and the wood is beautiful, matching our living room but with a more modern clean finish. Now for the details. FCI’s salesperson Phillip arrived quickly, was very friendly, and helped me choose options that were a good color match for our living room. His communication was quick throughout the process. The one-year interest free financing was a good option for us, and working with Advancial, and Micki in particular, was a pleasure. Micki was able to split the payment into half up front and half on completion, which met our expectations for paying for contracting work. We appreciated the option to add a kitchen floor refinish to our job, and then remove it when we learned how disruptive it would be. The installers John and his partner did a great job: clear communication as in getting us to take a look for any question, perfect installation looks like it has been there forever, delighting us with skill as in no ridge on the bedroom to bathroom transition, being helpful as in placement of our bed during the move, and with courtesy as in when we needed privacy.  And thank you John for filling in the rough edges around a prior door install.  If and when we do the kitchen refinish or any other flooring work, I’d love to have John and his partner come back and do the work. We learned something about new hardwood installation vs. refinishing existing hardwood. Our original hardwood floors in the living room and kitchen were installed 20 years ago, and involved installation of unfinished wood followed by refinishing. We were not in the house yet so this was fine. Our new hardwood in the bedroom was finished wood, so it was just nailed in without needing refinishing. This kept the job to one day: noisy but quick and pretty dust free. Unfortunately there were some glitches in the details of communication. The initial proposal had a $500 math error which made the total amount $500 higher than it should have been. Fortunately I caught the error and Phillip corrected it. The financing came through and we were billed the full amount up front. When we declined to pay the full amount in advance, Phillip and the owner Andrea told us we needed to do the financing application again from scratch. Fortunately, Micki at Advancial was able to resolve this without starting over. We were able to pay half up front and half on completion, while financing the full amount. We added a refinish of our kitchen hardwood floor early on. Phillip smoothly added the work, but was unclear as to the impact of a refinish on our home life - a 3-day plus project with a lot of noise, dust, and disruption. However, once this became clear he easily removed it from the project. I was surprised to find that the new hardwood in the bedroom, while being a good color match, was not smooth in the same way as our living room. There are tiny grooves between the boards in the new install, whereas the refinished living room is completely smooth. This was a surprise because Phillip did not tell us up front that the finish would be different. However, after the fact he explained it well: new installations don’t have the same finish as a refinished floor, but they are so much quicker and cleaner to install that everyone does it this way now. The new floor finish is fine, actually great, and we love it. Despite the glitches mentioned, overall we are super-happy with the work of FCI Seattle Eastside. I hope they find this feedback constructive, and we will definitely call them again for future hardwood flooring needs.

I highly recommend Floor Coverings International! Chris came out for a consultation very quickly and provided an estimate the same day. I love that they had samples in their van to easily see a lot of options in my home. Once the carpet I selected was ordered, they installed it as soon as it arrived and in one day. Great service and professionalism.
